Two weeks ago, the same thing happened to me as it happened to the lady in the pic. I had what in medical term, they call it a sub-conjuctival hemmorrhage, it is basically broken blood vessel in the eye.You may not realize you have a sub-conjunctival hemorrhage until you look in the mirror and find the white part of your eye is bright red. After I had washed my face, I looked into the mirror. I was shocked, cos it had never happened to me before.
Nicolas suggested that we should go to hospital.
We arrived to the first hospital, the nurse at the reception told us that they didn't have any eye doctors there, so she suggested us to go to other hospital. Huh????
Nicolas asked her if they had any other doctors to check my eye if it was dangerous or not. To our surprise, she said no. DARN. So, we moved on, drove to other hospital. Thanks God, no danger at all.
P.S. other info about broken blood vessel in eye:
The conjunctiva can't absorb the blood very quickly, so the blood is trapped under this transparent surface. A subconjunctival hemorrhage may worry you, but it's usually a harmless condition that disappears within 10 to 14 days. Sub-conjunctival hemorrhage often occurs without any obvious harm to your eye, or it may be the result of a strong sneeze or cough that caused a broken blood vessel. You don't need any specific treatment for a subconjunctival hemorrhage.
